unless you know your son and trust him a great deal i would not do that, yeah there a handful that are responsible at that age, however i say parents really love there kids they would not give them high performance cars, i personally think kids should not drive until they are 18 at all. If they get a speeding ticket or reckless ticket then there license should be revolked for 6 months, to send a strong message early about driving like that. I had some kids one night in a blazer about 18, that were driving while drinking tequila and going 80 in 45 zone, went around me and over correceted and rolled over about 6 times luckily i think they had minor injuries. But how stupid can you get, i was glad they where allright, but it made me mad they could have killed me and my girlfriend while doing that.Good luck!
